East of the Southern Alps lies the high country – wide valleys, tawny tussock, trout rivers and kea birds. In the heart of these mountains is Wilderness Lodge Arthur’s Pass. The Lodge is set in a beech forest on a 3000 hectare sheep farm/nature reserve surrounded by Arthur’s Pass National Park. All the rooms have magnifi cent Southern Alps views. Naturalist guided activities include alpine fl ower, mountain and waterfall walks, canoeing, limestone cave trips, fly fishing, sheepdog mustering and sheep shearing.
