Appropriately called the ‘garden island’, Taveuni was first discovered by Abel Tasman in 1643. The south east of the island is endowed with the best of nature in the form of magnificent waterfalls, cliffs and wild surf. A visit to Bouma Waterfall is a must whilst the destination is a mecca for divers and deep sea fishing. The reefs surrounding Taveuni including the Rainbow Reef, are classed as one of the world’s top dive sites.
